Daylight Savings should be a sign from Nature to slow down, go inward like the sap of the trees; a time to restore and refresh our bodies, minds, and spirits.
Yet, for many it seems to create the opposite. It creates STRESS! The pressure builds to scan the adds for Amazon Deals and Black Friday bargains. Friends and family ask us what we “want” for the holidays and for many there is the additional challenge of travel.
Simple Tips for Coping and Restoring- EAT, SLEEP, S#!T
EATING: Eat an apple each day. Apples hold a lot of Qi (energy). They blossom in spring, grow in summer and mature in fall. They contain tons of vital energy your body can use this time of year!
SLEEP: Be off your feet and off your “screens“ by 11:00 pm. (Charge your phone and laptop in another room other than your bedroom.) Allow your body the time it needs at night to heal and restore from your day’s events.
S#!T: Nature shows us that Fall is the season of letting go. Allow your body to do the same. To ensure “regularity” drink plenty of decaffeinated fluids during the day and keep your alcohol consumption to the recommended 1-2 beverages per day. Try to practice “letting go” in other ways too. Don’t let others ruin your day. “Not your circus, not your monkeys” might be a good attitude to adopt this time of year.
Last, but not least, LOVE. Take time each day to smile…at yourself in the mirror and at others. A smile is so healing. Pass it on!
