While Nature asks us to follow the seasonal rhythm downward and inward, our culture asks us to do more.  Buy more, eat more, party more!  Here are a few hints to help and support you:

Number One Rule of Advice: Try to stick to a normal, healthy routine.

Sleep: Go to bed by 11:00 pm, use ear plugs or an eye mask to support deep, restorative sleep.  Think hibernate!

Exercise: Get in your 10,000 steps by taking the stairs, parking far away, walking the dog.  Stretching before bed.

Drink Warm Water: Warm water supports healthy digestion and healthy digestion supports all your functions:  body, mind and spirit

Eat in Moderation:  Eat healthy fruits or veggies before you go out, then enjoy that cookie, pie or eggnog in small amounts.  

Feel Free to Say No:  If you are tired, under the weather, or feeling stressed, make sure to put yourself on your “to do” list and allow yourself to say “no thank you”.

Breathe: Set alarms on your phone to remind you to close your eyes and take a 2-3 minutes of restorative, deep breathing. Surround yourself with

Love: Your positive friends and family, your cat, your dog, your fuzzy robe, your favorite movie.  Reduce the drama.
